Belzona 1111 (Supermetal) Belzona 1341 (Supermetalglide)

Problem: After 10 years of service on the river the hull of the vessel was suffering from cavitation around the propellor area. Previous repair method had been welding.

Application Situation
Hull of a survey vessel operating on the river Thames.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How  System Leaflet SOS-1 & SOS-2, Belzona 1111 was used to build up the worst affected areas and then Belzona 1341 was then brush applied to provide overall protection.
Belzona Facts
Previous methods would have been to weld plates onto the hull and use an inferior coating, meaning hot works and regular inspections of the hull. The port now have the confidence to inspect on a longer basis meaning the vessel can survey the river for longer periods, saving time and money in a dry dock.
