Application Date: March, 2007
Products: Belzona® 1812 (Ceramic Carbide FP)

Application Situation
This deflaker is used to spin trash (staples, plastic, glass, metal, etc.) out of recycled cardboard. The inside is lined with basalt tiles. This is a one of a kind machine.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet SHM-13. We used aluminum oxide blast material to achieve a desired profile and applied 1/4" of Belzona® 1812 around the entire interior of the equipment.
We also applied Belzona 9411 (Release Agent) on the bolts, seated them, and rebuilt the door edges with Belzona® 1111.
Belzona Facts
The alternatives the mill had were to try and find another piece of similar equipment or remove the tiles and try relining the equipment with more tile.
We offered them another alternative in that we would lay Belzona® 1812 over the tiles to act as a sacraficial layer. We now have a yearly project during their shutdowns.
