Application Situation
Concrete walls of an ammonia secondary containment area.
Application Method
The damage at the SE corner required cutting out a section of the walls in one area and a simple removal of a small section at the SW corner. A grinder was used to remove oxidation from rebar. Belzona 4911 was applied to the steel rebar and concrete. Form boards were attached to the concrete to create a frame before pouring Belzona 4154. Once cured, the form boards were removed. A grinder was used to remove the gloss off of Belzona 4154, then the surface was wetted with Belzona 4911 to prepare it for the application of Belzona 4111 as a finishing layer.
Belzona Facts
Originally the plan called for rebuilding with concrete. When the engineers saw the bond strength of the Belzona 4154 and 4111 they decided Belzona would work much better.
