Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona Know-How System Leaflets FPA-1 for rebuilding worn and damaged floor surfaces and FPA-3 for protecting floors and drains against chemical attack. The concrete surface was prepared by removing loose and spalling concrete, pressure washing, abrasive blasting and diamond grinding. Belzona 4911 and 4131 were applied in accordance with Belzona’s Instructions for Use. Two coats of Belzona 5892 at approximately 10 mils per coat were applied in accordance with Belzona’s Instructions for Use. The entire application was completed per the details described in the Application Survey Report.
Belzona Facts
The customer’s decision to use Belzona 5892 was partially based on the need for a coating that would withstand exposure to caustic and brine solution at high temperatures. Another factor that influenced the customer’s decision was the fact that Belzona products have an excellent reputation and a history of successful applications at this facility. The total surface area coated was approximately 16,020 sq. ft.
