Photograph Descriptions
  1. Surface preparation to roughen the substrate
  2. Conditioning the substrate
  3. Applying reinforcing cloth over Belzona 2121
  4. Completed application
Application Situation
Chiller had a leaking flange.
Application Method
The surface was prepared with a grinder to roughen the substrate. Then, the application area was taped off. Belzona 2911 was applied to condition the substrate and allowed to dry. We then used Belzona 2121 in red and stippled in reinforcing cloth over the seam and bolts. We went over and applied a second coat of Belzona 2121 in black. We let it sit overnight and it stopped the leak.
Belzona Facts
The company tried several times to stop the leak with several different products. The only other alternative was to remove the flange and piping and replace. This would have increased costs and caused several days of downtime.
