Problem: Vapors were escaping from the tank due to tank top separating. Vapors were also thinning metal in about a 60 sq. ft. area. Customer had welded plates over holes but needed a coating with resistance to sulfuric acid vapors.

Holes and corrosion on top of sulfuric acid tank and separated top of tank.

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets TCC-1 & TCC-5.
Belzona Facts
Customer was going to have to cut out a 60 sq. ft. of the tank top which would require plant shutdown due to hot work. Estimated savings by using Belzona products and installation was $80,000.00. this was just the repair cost. Plant shutdown was totally out of conversation. Belzona HAD to work!...and it did!
