The Navy unit has damaged the sponson on one of their large RIB boats.
Método de aplicação
Two pieces of synthetic rubber were cut to bond over the hole. Roughened the inside and outside surfaces of the sponson as well as the repair patches. Bonded the inside patch using Belzona 2211 and then bonded the second patch on the outside. Pressure was added to both patches during their cure time.
Fatos Belzona
The Navy unit could send the sponson out for an expensive and time consuming repair ($3000+) with a several weeks of turnaround time or buy a new sponson ($10,000+). However, the Navy chose to repair the sponson themselves for less than $500 and complete the job in one day.
