Problem: The lower part of the outer casing of the cooling circuit pipe was heavily corroded, causing a weakening of the actual mantle and localised coolant leak.

Application Situation
Corrosion on the inlet and outlet pipes of the cooling circuit
Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets VPF-2 and VPF-11. After surface preparation, the badly corroded areas were repaired with Belzona 1111 and reinforcing metal plates. The pipeline was then treated with the Belzona 5831 and Belzona 5811 incorporating Belzona 9341 to provide long term corrosion protection.
Belzona Facts
Replacing the pipework outright would have been hugely expensive and demanded an extensive period of downtime. Similarly, effecting basic welding repairs would have required lengthy shutdown, incurred additional health and safety risks, and would not have protected the pipework against further corrosion. The Belzona solution allowed a rapid, inexpensive application with a minimum of downtime that provided a long-term solution to the problem.
