Problem: Fuel leaks at bolting areas between body and bonnet.

  1. Surface cleaned and prepared. Belzona® 1221 (Super E-Metal) is used to seal the active leaks.  
  2. All bolts and flange were coated entirely with Belzona® 2131 (D&A Fluid Elastomer).
Application Situation
36" Gate Valve holding back 27 miles of uphill diesel fuel.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona Know-How Leaflet GSS-3.
Belzona Facts
To shut down and repair or replace the valve would have required 8 hours of downtime at a cost of $28,000 per hour. The Belzona repair saved the customer over $200,000.
