Problem: Some of the internal walls and steel cones needed repairing. In addition, a static dissipative coating was required to protect against static build up within the silo.

Application Situation
Rape seed silo belonging to a bio-fuel producer. This dusty organic material presented a significant static hazard as a result of friction within the silo.
Application Method
Application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflets TCC-3. Damaged concrete was repaired with Belzona 4111. Belzona 4351 was applied to walls and cone taking care to ensure Belzona 4351 was in direct contact with the earthing points provided.

The Belzona Distributor was able to provide the overall package the client required. This included the appropriate static dissipative coating specification and complete application which involved heating of the silo, scaffolding the project, alongside grit blasting all the surfaces.
