Problem: External corrosion was creating thin wall defective areas with potential loss of structural integrity. The asset owner wanted to restore the integrity of the pipe wall by employing a compliant repair solution without downtime and loss of production.

Application Situation
4" and 6" risers on offshore production platform.
Application Method
The repair area was abrasive blasted to achieve SSPC-SP 10 (Near White Metal) with an anchor profile of at least 3 mils. The surface was wiped clean with Belzona 9111 and maintained clean until commencement of the application. Belzona 1121 was used as a rrebuilding material to fill pits and restore the original thickness of the wall. Belzona 9381 was saturated with Belzona 1982 and applied around the riser in 5 wraps (10 layers) in compliance with the engineered design. Then, Belzona 9382 was installed to consolidate the repair during the curing process. Once the system was cured, Belzona 9382 was released.
