Problem: Water leaking into a metal building from existing patches on the roof and porous weld seams. Other types of epoxy repairs were tried, but failed due to the harsh offshore weather.

Photograph Descriptions

1. After abrasive blasting some metal patches were loose.

2. Metal plate perimeter and holes sealed with 1121.

3. Spray application of 5811 beige and non-skid aggregate.

4. Spray application of 5111 gray top coat.

Application Situation

Metal building with leaking roof on offshore platform. Electrical equipment housings inside building are getting corrosion damage.

Application Method

Belzona 1121 is used to seal porous welds and fill gaps in existing welded metal patches. Belzona 5811 is used to seal all surfaces. Belzona 5111 is used as a top coat to provide durable weather resistance.

Belzona Facts

Building replacement was not an option due to very high costs.
