Application Situation
Wastewater lift station pump in a heavy residential area.
Application Method
The top portion of the pump was lifted and pulled aside providing limited access to the problem area. A grinder was used to roughen the application area as best as possible and emery cloth was used to prep the areas that the grinder could not reach. A golf ball portion of Belzona 1212 was mixed and applied by a gloved hand to the hole and smoothed out so no further machining would be necessary. The water department crew left for lunch after the application, and then returned and reassembled the pump and returned the pump back to service. The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet CEP-5.
Belzona Facts
Belzona 1212 was the perfect choice for this pump repair as it is surface-tolerant. This allowed for the repair to take place on-site with a minimal impact. With other repair options, the entire pump casing would have been needed to be removed causing additional downtime and expense.
