Application Situation
A single valley gutter has repeatedly leaked over a crucial part of the hospital. It was metal/plastisol construction with sealed joints every 3 metres. The total area surface area was 12 square meters.
Application Method
All surfaces were prepared in line with the Belzona 3121 Instructions For Use. The first coat was applied to the prepared substrate along with Belzona 9331 reinforcing sheet, ensuring the fibrous side of the sheet was facing down. The product was overlapped on either side of the central run by approximately 0.5" (12.5mm). This was applied in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet RPA-06.
Belzona Facts
This work was requested by a local, trusted contractor who had carried out Belzona applications at the hospital previously, though for water storage tanks. The original specification of Belzona 3131 was changed to Belzona 3121 to meet the projects time demands. Belzona showed full flexibility with this application, with all parties working closely together to bring a rapid solution which should last for many years. Despite the impact of Covid, Belzona still achieved the client's wishes through teamwork with internal departments and trusted contractors on time, on budget.
