Application Situation

Corroded sea water inlet pipe under the floating line, inside the engine room of an oil tanker. It was not possible to restore/replace the pipe in drydock. In this condition inspector did not give permission to sail.

Application Method

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet VPF-11. Following mechanical preparation a small plate was bonded with rapid cure Belzona 1221, then completed with a wrap of the pipe with Belzona 1161.

Belzona Facts

The Belzona application made it possible to repair and to secure the piping in one day, allowing the tanker to sail and avoiding downtime and more expensive activities in drydock.
