Problem: The steel was going rusty and the rust contaminating / discolouring the white coloured fibre prior to despatch to the customers.

Application Situation

The alumina fibre which is manufactured by the client is very aggressive and was wearing down the unprotected steel on a bailing machine.

Application Method

The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-5. Upon completion of surface preparation, two coats of Belzona 6111 were applied. In order to provide additional corrosion protection, two coats of Belzona 5111 were applied.

Belzona Facts

Belzona 5111 has excellent dry abrasion resistance and will reduce hold up of any fibres due to the slick surface and its excellent flexibility. The client is happy with the applied surface which will prevent discolouration/contamination of the bulk alumina fibre.
