Problem: The head plate of the heat exchanger was very badly corroded and wad already showing in part considerable loss of wall thickness.

Application Situation

In July 2020 we applied test coatings in a number of areas. Inspection on March 15, 2022 confirmed Belzona test areas were error free. This gave the go ahead for Belzona to refurbish the heat exchanger.

Application Method

The plate was blasted in accordance with the Belzona IFU. The plate was washed twice with Saltaway + deionized water + blown dry. The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet HEX-1 and HEX-3.

Belzona Facts

The client chose Belzona due to the longevity of the coating after testing. Visited the test area after 2 years and still in perfect condition.
