Application Situation

A multi-stage pump operating in a power station was badly worn, resulting in efficiency losses. A solution was required to rebuild the substrate and increase its efficiency.

Application Method

The substrate was prepared using grit blasting to a SA2.5 cleanliness standard and an average surface profile in excess of 75 microns. Belzona 1111 (Super Metal) was then applied to restore the substrate followed by the application of Belzona 1341 (Supermetalglide) to provide long term protection. System leaflet CEP-03

Belzona had previously coated other multi-stage pumps at this power plant, so the asset owners requested this pump was also repaired with Belzona.
