Problem: The concrete steps had worn and the current safety grip system had become almost none existent due to heavy foot traffic and weathering. A member of staff had slipped down the steps and injured themselves so solution to this seious slip hazard required.

Application Situation
Smooth concrete fire escape stairway
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet FPA-8. Belzona® 4411 in grey was applied to the steps with Belzona® 9221 (Surefoot White Aggregate) incorporated into the main step areas and Belzona 9231 (Surefoot Aggregate) incorporated into the coating on the nosings.

The client was looking for a quick solution to overcome this safety issue and selected the Belzona solution as Belzona system offered not only a quick but also long term solution. The application was completed within 3 weeks with minimal disruption to employees and is now providing a safe well gripped fire escape.
