Application Situation
Within the mining industry, power plays a crucial role in various processes, necessitating the use of switchgear often housed in purpose-built structures. One vulnerable area in these structures, particularly susceptible to harsh African sunlight, is the roofing. Given the unfavourable combination of water and switchgear, the expertise of AESSEAL (PTY) Ltd comes into play.
Application Method
The original coating was removed as it was lose. On completion of surface preparation including washing and degreasing, Belzona 3111 (Flexible Membrane) was used in conjunction with the Belzona 3911 (PSC Conditioner) and Belzona 9311 (Reinforcement Sheet). This facilitated swift waterproofing of the compromised roof sections. The application area was 150 square metres.
