Application Situation

Piping near a cooling tower was severely corroded due to cooling tower mist.

Application Method

Wire brush preparation was performed around critical defects. Belzona 1212 was then used to cover critical defects. Once Belzona 1212 became machinable, a MBX was used to create an SSPC-SP 11 surface cleanliness level on the surrounding good metal. Belzona 1161 was used to smooth out the repair area and SuperWrap II was applied in a patch form as a 6 layer system.
