Problem: External Corrosion caused damage to the pipe, they also wanted to seal the thread-o-lets, which were no longer required. The repair had to be compliant to ASME PCC-2 and no hot work was permitted.

The majority of the large diameter pipe was in a good condition so a patch was just more practical and economical than a replacement.
