Problem: These rubber wastewater expansion bellows were being weathered by UV and exposure resulting in cracking.

Application Situation

Rubber expansion bellows on water circulation pipes at a wastewater treatment plant.

Application Method

Surface prep was done with coarse emery cloth and blown clean. Belzona 2911 was applied and allowed to dry as per the IFU. Belzona 2221 was mixed and the cracks filled and the entire surface wetted out with a brush. Then the Belzona 9341 was wrapped around the bellows and pulled tight until the 2221 squeezed through the reinforcement tape and the remaining 2221 was applied by brush to overcoat and seal in the reinforcement tape.

Belzona Facts

Replacement of one of these bellows would cost over $1200.00 in parts, and the system would have to be taken offline to perform the replacement. The Belzona application cost a fraction of this took less than one hour and was completed while the system was in operation.
