Problem: Transformer cooling fins had become corroded from water collecting on the fins edges & started to leak

Application Situation

Welding was not possible due to the oil in the fins. By using a cold applied system repairs could be undertaken promptly & safely

Application Method

The fins were prepared using Dremel type tools & small grinders. 'U' shaped doubler plates were then bonded using Belzona 1161 UW Metal on the most corroded fins. All areas were then overcoated using Belzona 5831 to provide corrosion protection.

Dozens of plate bonds have now been done at this site with very little disruption to operations.
