Problem: This client had been using coal tar as their pump protection for years. They wanted something better but still lower cost and finally gave Belzona 5811 a try after being show the performance data from the PSS.

Application Situation

The competitor was a coal tar used for years. After several meetings the client had decided to try Belzona 5811 due to it's lower cost and excellent adhesion and wear numbers vs traditional coal tar.

Application Method

Pump was brand new**
Blasted to SP10, modified CEP-03 leaflet was used.
two coats of 5811 applied to internals and externals of the bowl and suction bell

Belzona Facts

Client has been happy with the performance of Belzona 5811 and has since then coated several more pumps in lieu of coal tar. They have also been looking at other higher grade options such as 1341.
