Problem: Exposure to the elements and oil & gas process systems caused severe corrosion to exterior of sump tank bottom. Damage resulted in thin wall and through hole areas.

Application Situation

Sump Tank Bottom deteriorated by external corrosion.

Application Method

Applicaton was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet GSS-10. Belzona 1121 was used to cold bond pre-fabricated replacement bottom on the tank.

Belzona Facts

Sump Tank had to be repaired or taken out of service. Welding was not suitable option because it would have required unit shut down and loss of production, and replacement would also have caused loss of production plus cost of new tank. Off site fabrication of a new tank bottom and temporary by pass of this tank during application was the most cost effective alternative.
