Problem: The 120-meter high chimney of the plant’s combined heat and power plants required a new more durable coating protection. Previous coatings were very quickly tarnished and damaged.

Application Situation
Oil refinery chimney, northern Poland
Application Method
The application was carried out in Accordance with Belzona System Leaflet FBC-02 The chimney was cleaned, the old paint was removed by abrasive blasting to achieve a good surface profile. Then, Belzona 5911 Ceramic Cladding Conditioner was applied. Two layers of Belzona 5111 (Ceramic Cladding) coating were then applied onto a conditioned surface.The total area to be covered was 4,000 square meters.
Belzona Facts
The customer is a long term good customer. However, it was necessary to convince them to buy a coating almost three times more expensive than the previous coatings. They were convinced that the coating lasts longer (Belzona 5111 has a very high albedo – 0.89 thanks to which it reflects a significant part of solar radiation) and that the Belzona 5111 coating will be clean for longer and very visible.
