KHIA ID: 9858
Industry: Buildings & Structures (BSTR)
Application: WPA-Wall Problem Areas (WPA)
Substrate: Concrete
Customer Location: Leicester
Application Date: June 2025
Products: Belzona 4141 (Magma-Build),Belzona 4911 (Magma TX Conditioner)

Problem: The client realised that a previous report, regarding concrete repairs, had become outdated, and many new problem areas had presented themselves.
Following a further, recent report, more than double the repairs were identified against the report of just 3 years ago, indicating the exponential increase of degrading concrete to a large 12 story building

Application Situation
Belzona's lightweight Magmabuild 4141 really paid off for the Rope access company, allowing them far more working time on the ropes, in situ, than any other competitor of concrete repair products could match. This decreased the number of ascents back to base to "refill" and carry on. The overall cost saving, in time, meant that Rope Access was far more competitive than scaffold or mechanical platforms, allowing one of our preferred contractors the ability to win the project and pass on the savings to the end client
Application Method
No civils or excavation into the walls or soffits was required.
The areas were prepared by removing any loose and friable materials from the target areas
Areas, to include a feather edge were then taped of to demarcate the application area
Following this, Belzona 4911 TX Conditioner was mixed and applied using a short bristled brush
The Belzona 4911 aggressively adheres to the substrate
Following this, the Belzona 4141 Magmabuild is mixed and applied by gloved hand and smoothed/compressed using a standard finishing trowel
The tape was removed and the IRATA L3 Engineers would traverse to the next repair
Belzona Facts
By reducing ascent/descent actions, much time was saved and made available to carry on with the application. This gave the Rope Access company the necessary cost savings to be competitive and pass on the opportunity of lower budgetary expense to the client.
Belzona's track record for their 4000 series, along with many KHIA's showing practical solutions made it the favourite amongst competition offered by other contractors.
