Problem: Corrosion issues prompted the Client to seek a cost effective solution to seal an internal-to-external drainage outlet. A swift application was required to eliminate any uncontrolled discharges of the acid to the internal working area.

Application Situation
Pickle tank containing 36% Hydrochloric acid, used in the process of decontaminating manufactured car parts through a system of wash baths.
Application Method
The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona Know-How System Leaflet TCC-3. A mild steel plate, coated one side with Belzona 4311, was manufactured prior to attending site. The plate was bonded in place using Belzona 4301 and the edges sealed with further application of Belzona 4311.

The Client required a quick, cost effective solution which did not prolong the plant/equipment downtime longer than necessary. The Client was very satisfied and committed to a second application on a neighbouring tank some weeks later.
