Problem: Since the pumps convey glacier water, they were so stressed by glacier grinding (deterion) without coating that the running time was a maximum of 8 months.

Application Situation
High pressure pump with 7 stages (KSB Multitec A100 / 7-8) The new pumps, which came directly from the manufacturer, are required to operate snow-making systems in a ski area.
Application Method
The pumps were delivered directly to our service center by the manufacturer. We then dismantled the pumps and measured the clearance on the impellers. The running wheels were then turned on the lathe in order to obtain the original dimensions at the end. All components of the pump were sandblasted SA.2.5 After sandblasting, the components were immediately coated with Belzona 1341 Supermetalglide. After a curing time of 14 hours, the wheels were turned back to their original dimensions on the lathe with the help of CBN inserts. Before assembly, the impellers were checked for imbalance and balanced.

Due to various experiences with glacier water and Belzona 1341 Supermetalglide, there was no alternative for the end customer. Belzona 1341 coating is designed to triple service life and maintain productivity.
