Application Situation

In a wind farm in Australia, SF6 gas leaks were observed on flanges and needed to be sealed.

Application Method

Surface was prepared with power tools, such as bristles blasters and grinders to achieve a good profile for the Belzona to adhere. Belzona 1161 and reinforcing tape was applied around the outside of the flange. Then all nuts and bolts were coated with Belzona 1161. Belzona 5831 was then applied over the Belzona 1161 repair area to ensure a good seal and dress up the application

8 Flanges were successfully repaired, the client was happy and additional repairs will be carried out soon.
