Problem: Crew was using cleaner on shower that was not supposed to be used on aluminum. Cleaner was eroding the metal. Shower floor made of aluminum and drains are brass. Bimetallic corrosion was occurring at drain. So, basically 2 different problems were occurring and destroying the shower floor.

Application Situation

Shower stalls on a dredge boat. Boat has 49 showers.

Application Method

Application was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona Know-How System Leaflet FPA-1.

Belzona Facts

Showers are now more aestheticaly pleasing plus corrosion issues have been stopped. The only alternative was to replace the shower floor which would have been very expensive. The Belzona repair per shower is about $150.00. Cheif Engineer has had great success with Belzona products and felt confident in using Belzona 1341 for the coating.
