Problem: This secondary chemical containment had never been coated and has seen several spills over the last few years. This has caused severe damage to the concrete and sump pit area where water/chemicals had stood until it was pumped out.

In this picture, after we removed all loose and damaged concrete we throughly cleaned the area to be repaired with 100% MEK and began to prep the surface with grinders and needle guns. Once we achieved the correct surface prep we applied Belzona 4111

Once the repair was complete we applied 2 coat of Belzona 4311. In this application we perform a yearly inspection for the client.

Application Situation
For this application we were able to save the customer several days of down time by being able to work while the process was going. Each day they would have been would have cost over three million dollars. We were able to perform this work with no down time and completed in five days.
Application Method
In this project we used several types of equipment such as walk behind grinders, hand held grinders and needle guns to prepare the surface. We also used speciality designed trowels to contour the edges of the sump pit for the grating and the two inch cove around the bottom interior wall.
Belzona Facts
Cost savings for this project exceeded three million dollars due to no down time and material cure time which allowed us to complete the project in just five days. The alternative was to cut out and remove the bad concrete areas rebuild the sump pit and wait 28 days for the concrete to cure then to apply a coating.
