Problem: Basically the customer was facing severe corrosion issues , as the strainer was exposed to the sea water. Due the aggressive nature of the sea water, there would be a complete metal loss eventually leading to the leakage of the strainer.

Application Situation
The fabrication of a new strainer would cost them more than Belzona and the client had no time get a new one. Belzona solution has not only saved their cost but also helped the plant to run smoothly with minimum downtime.
Application Method
1. The entire strainer and cover was grit blasted to obtain near white metal finish.
2. After the grit blasting, the entire dust was removed the using compressor air blower, and degreased to remove the residue
3. Belzona 1311 was mixed & applied to smooth out the welding joints and projections.
4. Belzona 1321 was mixed applied as per the IFU.
The entire coating was completed using Belzona applicator & brush.
16kg of Belzona 1311 and 103kg of Belzona 1321 have been used for entire application.
