Problem: The sawmill planer bridge rolls are usually welded or cross-hatched to effectively grip and transfer the lumber. These rolls wear relatively quickly from abrasion, which reduces the throughput and/or quality of the cut lumber.

These rolls are typically in service for 3-5 years depending on the particu-lar saw mill activity and type of lumber produced. Initially the aggregate will come off, but after a few minutes of operation, no more material will be removed from the rolls.
