Problem: Debris, sand, and silt carried by irrigation water wore through the galvanizing in one season. Left uncorrected, the underlying carbon steel pipe would quickly corrode leading to soil erosion.

Application Situation
Galvanized steel pipe used to carry 400 ft³/s of irrigation water.
Application Method
Belzona® 5811 and Belzona® 9331 were applied in accordance with a modified Belzona Know-How System Leaflet VPF-2.
Belzona Facts
Replacement of the damaged pipe would have cost $700,000 and taken considerable time to complete. The Belzona repair was conducted quickly in situ and saved the customer $650,000.
Inspected after one season and found to be in excellent condition.
