Problem: Roof leakage was identified on a highly critical facility.

Surface cleaning was carried out to prevent contamination.

Belzona 3911 (PSC Surface Conditioner) was applied.

Application of Belzona 3111 (Flexible Membrane) in conjunction with Belzona 9311 (Reinforcement Sheet).

Application Situation

The scope of work was carried out on the roof of the Satellite Instrument Building, located in an oil and gas (O&G) processing plant. The roof is made of aluminum sheets coated with a thick layer of asphalt. The total surface area to be coated is 120 square meters.

Application Method

The application was carried out in accordance with the Belzona RPA-1 Knowledge System Leaflet.

1. The process began with preparation of the roof surface, which was cleaned using a detergent and then rinsed with running water until it was completely clean and free from contamination.
2. Once the surface was clean and dry, Belzona 3911 (PSC Surface Conditioner) was applied.
3. Subsequently, the Belzona 3111 (Flexible Membrane) system was installed, incorporating Belzona 9311 (Reinforcement Sheet) with a 3 cm overlap to ensure proper reinforcement.

Belzona Facts

Several repair attempts had previously been carried out using alternative products; however, the leakage persisted. Therefore, Belzona 3111 (Flexible Membrane) was selected due to its waterproofing properties, ease of application, and proven long-term performance.
