Problem: Our customer was looking for a coating to protect a concrete floor in a storage area. Sulfuric acid was going to be placed in this storage area to be staged for use and they were looking for a way to protect the floor in the event of spills.

Application Situation

Our customer was looking for a cost efficient floor coating to protect chemical storage floors in the event of spills. These areas existed as closets before so the concrete was in good shape, just needed to be prepared for the coating.

Application Method

We used a diamond wheel grinder to bring the concrete to bare and provide a roughened profile. We then applied 1 coat of Belzona 5811 to the floor and following with (1) heavy coat of Belzona 4311 on top. Both areas completed in 2 days.

Belzona offered a superior option for chemical protection. We met this client at a regional water/wastewater conference and had been in discussion for use for 1 year before moving forward. This opportunity has brought us entrance into the plant and other applications.
