Problem: A separator shaft in a Cement Plant Raw Mill was suffering from severe fine particle abrasion from iron ore, shale and limestone at temperatures up to 100degC. The plant was on an unscheduled shutdown and needed the repair carried out quickly so that the mill could be out back into service

Application Situation

The repair needed to be completed quickly. The rapid cure time of Belzona 1818 enabled the Mill to be put back into service in a matter of hours.

Application Method

The areas where Belzona 1818 was to be applied were prepared using an MBX Bristle Blaster.

Belzona Facts

The customer had previously used welding and/or replacement of the shaft at a very high cost, taking many days to complete. Belzona 1818 allowed small repairs to be carried out quickly, with rapid cure and short back in service time.
