Belzona 5811 Immersion Grade Saves Customer Years and Millions of Dollars

Problem: The Customer thought this clarifier tanks days were over. They submitted a permit for a new one and was told the permitting process would take five years so they started looking for a different solution. The previous coating they had installed came off in sheets and the corrosion under it had caused severe damage to the tank.

Steel was bonded to the top of the tank to provide more stability.

Application Situation
Composite Industrial Group was able to prep, blast and coat this tank in two weeks saving the customer the five years for permitting + an additional five years for construction. Faced with a massive order from China they were desperate to do something quickly. Belzona to the rescue and after seven years still looks and performs as the day we completed it.
Application Method
Blast cleaned the steel which also removed the previous coating. Tack welded expanded metal where needed. Rebuilt corroded, pitted and expanded metal areas with Belzona 1111 (Super Metal). Spray applied two coats of Belzona 5811 (Immersion Grade).
