Problem: Customer had metal plate over expansion joint that was a trip hazard as well as being uncomfortable for patients to cross on a hospital bed.

Metal plate was installed when hospital was renovated and was a trip hazard.

Plate Removed area was cleaned and backer rod was added.

Joint was rebuilt with Belzona 4131, Belzona 2221 was used to form the joint and Belzona 2911 conditioner was used as a primer.

Belzona 5231 was used as the topcoat.

Application Situation

The expansion joint was finished in two days with little inconvenience to the hospital staff. Cost of Belzona Products around 5,000.

Application Method

The Metal plate was removed, and joint was cleaned out. Edges of the concrete was rebuilt with Belzona 4131. Backer rod was inserted in the void area and Belzona 2211 was used to form the joint. Belzona 5231 was used as the topcoat to meet up with the existing floor.
