Problem: Customer had a pinhole leak in corner of heated oil jacket. It was not possible to drain this jacket as it was tied into the other 73 tanks.

Application Situation

This jacket was not able to be drained and/or shut down due to it being tied into system with other 73 tanks. Belzona was able to provide a live leak repair saving them thousands of dollars in repair costs and lost production as well as preventing future issues from purging this system and having to refill it and heat it back up again.

Application Method

Belzona 9611 was used to plug the hole with Belzona 1221 used as reinforcement. Once that was cured and leak was stopped, Belzona 1511/9341 was used to create a patch over the top of the leak for rebuild/reinforcement.

Belzona Facts

Belzona eliminated the need for shutting down and purging the system. There was also no hot work permits needed considering the alternative repair was welding which they were unable to do due to this being a biofuel facility. There was several weeks and thousands of dollars saved with this repair.
