Application Situation
A new paper milling fan and shroud needed a protective coating against corrosion due to the caustic mist in the air that it is being ventilated.
Application Method
Preparation was done by a combination of abrasive blasting and MBX by hand to achieve a SP10 near white metal finish for a good mechanical adhesion. Belzona 5811 was then mixed and applied as two coats on the shroud.
Belzona Facts
Belzona offered an effective way to protect the fan and the shroud from corrosion as well as an economical and time saving way to perform maintenance on the newly coated surface. If a one time application of 5811 of an entire paper machine will last minimum 10 years it will save them thousands!
