Problem: Customer was having high erosion on the braces supporting a ball mill handling Barite. Due to the high velocity and operating temperature of 300F, the Barite powder in the air was degrading the braces to no use within 2-3 months.

New upper and lower braces at customer location.

Braces blasted and prepped for application at Belzona/AAS location.

First coat of Belzona 1331 applied.

Second coat of Blezona 1331 applied and final product.

Application Situation

Customer was looking for a coating to help make the braces last longer rather than replacing every 2-3 months.

Application Method

Braces were blasted and cleaned with Belzona 9111. Braces were then twice coated with Belzona 1331 by hand.

Customer was unhappy and having unnecessary costs with replacing the braces every 2-3 months.
