Problem: Elevator Pit was leaking really bad from around the shaft area and from under a metal plate. The pit was not passing inspection by the state of North Carolina and was going to be shut down and taken out of service. It was the only elevator in a 4 story apartment building.

Application Situation

It was a very costly repair and took several days. They had tried many times using other materials to stop the leak.

Application Method

We cleaned the surface and grinded out all the old repair material. We discovered the leaking area and applied a vacuum to the area to maintain a dry surface. Application of Belzona 4111 to entire area on and around the metal shaft plate. Coating of Belzona 5811 applied to entire area including the walls.

It was very expensive and difficult situation, but Belzona solution fixed the problem where other solutions failed.
