Problem: Two hydrocyclones were subjected to strong abrasion combined with a chemical attack (Milk of Lime; [Ca(OH)2]). After 6-years of operation, a refurbishment was necessary.

Application Situation
Two hydrocyclones within a Sugar Refinery previously used Belzona solutions applied in 2017. The client wanted to re-apply the same system given the 6-year lifespan – in service – of the current system.
Application Method
The substrate was first prepared, followed by bonding the Belzona 9811 alumina tiles using Belzona 1391 (remaining stock). Once the tiles were glued in place, the interstices were grouted using Belzona 1814. The application was carried out in accordance with Belzona System Leaflet VPF-02.

The customer trusted the distributor with the protection of their equipment and has been able to extend the lifespan compared to conventional protection solutions.
