Application Situation
The pump parts were delivered to the workshop of the Belzona Authorised Distributor in Thailand. The repair was carried out in the workshop environment.
Application Method
1. The substrate of the pump parts was blasted using steel grit until a minimum average profile depth of 75 microns and surface cleanliness of Swedish standard Sa 2.5 are achieved.
2. All loose contaminants were brush away and the surface was cleaned with Methyl Ethyl Ketone.
3. The casing areas were coated with Belzona 1341 (Supermetalglide) at a minimum dry film thickness 200 microns and the impeller was coated with Belzona 1331 at a minimum dry film thickness 250 microns.
4. On the pitted area, Belzona 1121 (Super XL-Metal) was applied to rebuild the surface on the pump parts.
5. The second coat of Belzona 1341 (Supermetalglide) was applied at a minimum dry film thickness 200 microns on the casing area. For the impeller, the second coat of Belzona 1331 was applied at a minimum dry film thickness 250 microns.
6. Once the application was completed, the pump parts were inspected for holidays/pinholes prior to delivery back to the customer's site.
