Problem: A pump used to transport fly ash was suffering severe erosion & corrosion in service. Due to the harsh conditions pump parts had to be replaced every 6 months.

Application Situation
The original parts were only lasting 6 months. Using Belzona linings took the in service time to over 18 months. These parts could then be relined & put back into service instead of being scrapped.
Application Method
The pump impeller & casing were first grit blasted & then rebuilt using Belzona 1121. 3-6mm of Belzona 1812 was then applied to provide abrasion resistance.
Belzona Facts
The cost of a new slurry pump was over £12,000, the Belzona repair & lining was carried out for approximately £7,000.
