Problem: Several areas of the tank had a loss of metal thickness due to corrosion under insulation.

Application Situation

A carbon steel storage tank (6m in diameter and 10m high) on a manufacturing plant, stored a water soluble non ionic soil release polyester for liquid detergents and cleaners.

Application Method

Application was carried out in accordance with a modified version of Belzona System Leaflet VPF-11. The repair was then overcoated with Belzona 5811 to give an aesthetically pleasing finish.

The Engineering and Maintenance Department requested a solution according to recognised standards. Belzona SuperWrap could be installed according to ISO 24817 with a 10-year lifetime and engineered design.
