Problem: This pipework was expected to go through wall within its remaining lifetime. A method had to be employed that would mitigate the risk of this, while allowing the pipe to remain online.

Application Situation
The other alternatives were limited and involved the shutdown and replacement of the line which would have had a significant cost attached to it, and that is just in downtime alone!
Application Method
The pipeline is expected to go through wall due to internal corrosion in the 5-7 o'clock position of the pipe at some point in its future, a method was needed to reinforce this area. The pipe was grit blasted to a SA2.5 and a 75 micron minimum finish, to which plates were bonded to the lower section of the pipe with Belzona 7311. This was then wrapped with Belzona SuperWrap II and finished with Belzona 5811

The Belzona SuperWrap II offered a solution in conjunction with the structural adhesive which will allow the pipe to remain in service for the required time period.
